Job Opportunity: Participation Worker, The Phoenix

The Phoenix is a youth arts charity in Bolton. We currently run a diverse programme of activity based on Health & Wellbeing, Personalised Education and Open Access.

We are currently looking for an individual who can manage and deliver a new community cohesion project, ‘Building Resilience, Reclaiming Solidarity’, which will run in Bolton and Oldham. The role will specifically look at the needs of young people between the ages of 14 and 18, with a focus on this transitional period of their lives and making their communities more culturally integrated.

The project will deliver four programmes: youth led leadership; peer education; reducing isolation; and  risk reduction ( regarding racially motivated crime and radicalisation). The project will be youth led, and wherever possible, utilise youth arts as a vehicle for discussion, development and support for young people.

The post is offered on a three year fixed term contract, and is subject to funder’s approval.

Deadline Friday 27 May 2011
