Because we’re worth it! Artist Call Out

Ed Vaizey hasn’t a clue*. Alan Davey thinks it’s not important* but what is participatory arts?

We’re looking for an artist to help us find out.

On 22nd March 2012, and connectedculture are holding a one day national Summit at the ICA in London.

The summit, entitled, Because we’re worth it! will be attended by people working in, managed with or managing participatory arts across the UK.

They’ll be talking, sharing ideas, being inspired….

Are you a listener, observer, writer, documentor? Based on what people say we’re looking for an artist to help us answer the question: What is participatory arts?

We are also going to ask people on the day to tweet an answer in 140 characters and tell us what participatory arts means to them.

We’d like you to attend, reflect and give a five minute presentation at the end of the day with your findings. We will also publish your findings on to stimulate ongoing debate, and hopefully some clarity.

The Summit is in London. We have a fee available of £250 for the day to include any preparation and materials. Lunch will be provided and we can cover up to £50.00 expenses.

To apply:

Send a CV and up to 500 words on how you would approach the commission along with the name of someone you have worked for in the past so that we can take up a reference.

Send your response via email to by Monday 13th February.
